The Korean movie I want to recommend is 'Little Forest' (2018).

It literally means a small forest. The reason why I recommend this movie is that the rural life that we once dreamed of is well expressed. It is also fun to observe the four seasons of the Korean countryside clearly and to see foods cooked with crops that grow in each season. Next, I will introduce important elements of the movie such as the main character, the plot, and my favorite scene and lines.

  The main character of this movie is Hyewon. Hyewon grew up cooking delicious food with her mother with her own crops in the countryside since childhood. So when she comes back from the city to the countryside, she tries to remember her childhood, cook food, feel happy, and establish where she should be and what she wants to do.

To summarize the plot to those who are not familiar with the movie, Hyewon, who had no test, romance, or employment in the city, returns to her hometown for a while and meets her old friends Jaeha and Eunsook. It's about making a meal with her friends and spending four seasons, and realizing the real reason why she came back to her hometown.

  My favorite scene in "Little Forest" (2018) is the scene where Jae-ha and Hye-won play in the river on a summer night and sit on a stone bridge to talk and eat ice cream. I like this scene best because it was filled with the shining river and the quiet sound of grassworms in the moonlight, so I could feel the peaceful and beautiful rural atmosphere. Next my favorite line in this movie is "Does living such a busy life solve the problem?" Hyewon came down to her hometown with a lot of worries. She didn't try to solve her problems, she just kept working on the farm and kept herself busy. Jaeha, who saw that, tells Hyewon the above line. We can't afford to let our worries go for the rest of our lives, so we need to solve them one day. I've also avoided the situation in a similar way, so I sympathized a lot.

These days, the number of rural areas is decreasing due to urbanization, so we don't have a lot of opportunities to enjoy rural areas. Therefore, I hope this movie will give many people a chance to experience the beauty of the countryside. Thank you.
